Fifth Sabre Drafted into CFL

Sabre
Alumnus Chad Rempel was the Edmonton Eskimos 5th selection in the
2004 Canadian College Draft. Rempel, the Sabres star quarterback
of 1997 and 1998, was a University of Saskatchewan Husky for 4 seasons
from 1999 - 2002 . Rempel was the Sabres' QB the last time they
competed for the Provincial title in 1998. He was also selected
as the Senior Bowl MVP after leading the North to victory as QB.
His natural athletic ability allowed him to switch to wide-receiver
where he could take better advantage of his speed and mobility.
Rempel becomes
the fifth Sabre to be drafted by the Eskimos after Rob Adam, Blake
Bunting, Darcy Curtis and Ried Seitz. Now it will be up to Rempel
to make the squad at training camp this summer. It is suspected
that he will have a large home-town support group.

College Accomplishments:
2002 - Canada West All Star - Offence: Wide Receiver...25 rec. for
541 yards, 2 TD's.
2001 - Canada West All Star - Offence: Wide Receiver...38 rec. for
704 yards, 6 TD's.
2000 - 26 rec. for 446 yards, 4 TD's.
Of note
is that his tailback from his Championship Sabre team is featured
below (and now above).
